A recent study by the Journal of Athletic Enhancement on the effects of Intermittent Pneumatic Compression (IPC) devices on recovery shows that IPCs can drastically help your recovery time by reducing Blood Lactate (BLa) concentrations. They studied the effects on 21 female athletes of Active Recovery, Passive Recovery, and recovery using an IPC. The results showed that using an IPC produced the same results as using Active Recovery, and greatly decreased the amount of time needed for recovering vs the passive group.
